Organizational Effectiveness: How Do We Define Success?

ARCCO’s Best Practice Series is designed for ARCCO and IMAA members. This workshop on organizational effectiveness is aimed at providing different models/ templates of what an effective organization looks like. It will be a full day of information sharing with knowledgeable individuals who have exceptional vantage points and perspectives from which they can address the successes and challenges faced by the artist-run sector.

The morning will consist of an information session with consultant Judy Wolfe, who will outline the fundamental elements to an organization’s success, which take into account and include: fulfilling its mission and achieving its goals; the inputs and resources available, and how they are used, as well as the processes that have been put in place. Judy will also review a series of questions that are essential to ask when looking for indicators of organizational effectiveness.

The morning session will be followed by an afternoon Panel Discussion where panelists will discuss key characteristics of a sound organization, based on their knowledge and experience with the visual and media arts community. Following the panel discussion, all panelists and participants will participate in one Roundtable Discussion that will follow up on issues raised during the panel presentations.
